In Elzach, the narrens wore snails on their heads and marched in an aggressive procession, armed with pig bladders. They attack crowds who get in their way, growling and smashing phones and glasses in angry shouts. The parade makes its way through the city and down to then Bärenplatz, where the big carnival fire takes place in the evening.
